Workshops and materials for untrained ESL volunteers, teachers and tutors!

Are you a community-based casual, untrained English teacher supporting refugees or other recent newcomers? Or have you been thinking about it, but don’t know where to start?

We would like to make your life easier, and set you up for success!

Come to one of our workshops and receive:

  • basic training about the refugee experience and language teaching

  • ready-to-go lesson plans (aimed at beginner levels)

  • a stack of ready-to-go teaching materials* (books)

* Please note that due to limited resources, only those currently working with a group of learners will receive textbooks (we kindly ask for  a small contribution of $40 towards their cost).  To check if you're eligible to attend or receive textbooks, click here.
If you are interested in teaching in the future, you can attend the workshop, space permitting, and access some of the materials in electronic form in our Lesson Plans section.
